Water Authority board approves capital financing plan for water reliability projects

Taking the next critical step towards water supply diversity and reliability today, the San Diego County Water Authority board of directors approved a long-range financial plan for its Capital Improvement Program. The plan details the revenue necessary to effectively finance regional seawater desalination and water treatment facilities and additional local water storage capacity from fiscal 2005 through 2016.

The San Diego County Water Authority Board of Directors today approved a $1.65 billion, two-year budget to fund water purchases, debt service, capital improvements and Water Authority operations from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2011.

Water Authority Finds Grand Jury’s Water Rates Report Is “Right on the Money”

The San Diego County Water Authority Board of Directors today largely concurred with the key findings contained in a recent San Diego County Grand Jury report on water rates.  The Board determined the agency has implemented or is implementing the report’s recommended actions for developing new local water supplies, pushing for fair representation at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and improving public outreach.

Water Authority approves first multiyear budget

The San Diego County Water Authority board of directors yesterday approved a multiyear budget of $439.5 million and $461.1 million for fiscal years 2004 and 2005, respectively. The move to a multiyear budgeting process will give the Water Authority enhanced fiscal management of many multiyear projects and long-range planning. Revenue and other funding sources for the fiscal years are expected to total $441.8 million and $463.7 million, respectively. The Water Authority's fiscal year begins July 1.

New Agricultural Water Program Benefits San Diego County Growers

The San Diego County Water Authority’s Board of Directors last week approved a new and permanent Special Agricultural Water Rate structure that offers lower water rates to farmers in exchange for lower water supply reliability. Unlike the current temporary program, the new program will let new participants join as a way to strengthen the region’s multi-billion-dollar agriculture industry. New ag water program rates will be determined in the spring of 2020 as part of the Water Authority’s annual rate-setting process. Water authority approves $479.9 million budget for fiscal year 2002-2003

The board of directors of the San Diego County Water Authority approved a $479.9 million budget that will allow the Water Authority to continue providing a safe, reliable water supply to the region. Revenues and other funding sources for the fiscal year are expected at $490.8 million. The Water Authority's fiscal year begins July 1.

Water authority revises rate structure

The board of directors of the San Diego County Water Authority approved a new system of rates and charges to fairly allocate the costs of providing water and other services to member agencies. The new rate structure is divided into categories to specifically address the different services supplied to member agencies which buy water from the Authority. It will be effective Jan. 1, 2003.
