Citizens Water Academy Connects, Educates Civic Leaders
The award-winning Citizens Water Academy provides an opportunity for emerging leaders and professionals in the San Diego region to learn about critical projects and programs related to water.
Through the academy, the Water Authority expands and sustains a diverse network of influencers who are willing to serve as ambassadors on water issues and refer others to future academy classes to expand knowledge about the region’s water industry.
Participant Information
More than 700 regional leaders have participated in the Water Authority’s award-winning Citizens Water Academy since its inception in 2015.
Participants must attend each session and the facilities tour to complete the program. There is no tuition, fee, or charge to apply or attend, but there may be a reportable value due to food, beverages and other items provided to participants.
The academy is typically held three times each year, however, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the suspension of classes until further notice.
To learn more about the program, applications, or nominations, email the program coordinator at wateracademy@sdcwa.org.
