The San Diego County Water Authority on Wednesday priced a $299 million bond sale that will reduce the cost of financing vital water supply reliability projects over the next two decades.
When completed, the sale of Senior Lien Water Revenue Refunding Bonds Series 2013A will refund $299 million in long-term, fixed-rate bonds from the agency’s 2004A series. Closing is expected in about four weeks.
Mira Mesa resident Yen C. Tu was recently appointed to the San Diego County Water Authority board of directors by Mayor Dick Murphy for the city of San Diego. Tu, executive director for the Asian Business Association of San Diego, fills the unexpired term of Francesca Krauel on the Authority board. Tu's term will expire Jan. 30, 2003.

The San Diego County Water Authority board of directors has voted to refund $7.159 million in water sales revenues to its member agencies. The checks are scheduled to be issued on April 12, 2002, according to James F. Turner, chairman of the board.

San Francisco Superior Court Judge Richard A. Kramer today reaffirmed his January 6 order granting discovery in the San Diego County Water Authority's lawsuit challenging 2011 and 2012 water rates adopted by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. In reaffirming his prior ruling, Judge Kramer rebuffed attempts by MWD to assert limits on discovery before the process has even commenced.
The San Diego County Water Authority on Tuesday secured nearly $18 million in savings on future debt payments for the region’s water ratepayers by refinancing bonds used to build a major pipeline connected to the Claude “Bud” Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Plant. Three projects designed to enhance water supply reliability across the San Diego region have secured a total of $500,000 in grant funds for advanced planning activities from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
