The Water Authority’s Brought to You by Water outreach and education program was selected by the Association of California Water Agencies as one of the top communications platforms statewide.
Faces of the Water Industry Showcases Essential Workers
The Faces of the Water Industry outreach campaign expanded in Fiscal Year 2020, featuring Water Authority and member agency employees and showcasing the wide variety of professions in the water and wastewater industry. In October 2019, a social media campaign restarted to highlight more than 30 employees in conjunction with Water Professionals Appreciation Week, following similar but smaller efforts the previous two years. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Water Authority and its member agencies also collaborated to create a series of stories on the Water News Network called “Water Utility Heroes of the Week.” The series provided insight into the lives of essential employees throughout the county and was designed to highlight those employees continuing to serve to their communities and the region despite the pandemic.
